The social network site Zing Me (http://me.zing.vn) will organize a one-day festival for youth with lots of exciting activities to mark its first birthday anniversary on August 22 at the Phan Dinh Phung Indoor Stadium in HCMC’s District 1.

“The festival day is our thank-you to users who have been with Zing Me for a year. Our long-term plan aims at creating more playgrounds for the youth of this social network,” said Vuong Quang Khai, deputy general director of VNG, the organization in charge of Zing Me.

The festival has two main parts including fun games from 7 a.m.-12 p.m. and music performances from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. The first part will have popular games of the social network including Happy Farm, the Happy Fishpond and Parking battle. Game winners will share in 2,000 gifts including backpacks, T-shirts, notebooks and free food and drink vouchers at the festival. There are also gifts for those who win - the tallest person, the longest hair, the best singer or the most knowledgeable about Zing Me.

The music performance includes singers Bao Thy, Song Yen, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Nam Cuong, beat box artists Double T and Mr. T,  Hiphop dance group MTE and DJ Duy, comedy group Tran Thanh and rock band Microwave.

After a year, Zing Me has attracted 5.1 million members, mostly students. The social network has connected the netizens through community activities such as the Earth Hour and the writing contest “Viet loi yeu thuong” (“Writing words of love”) to raise funds for HIV-infected children and donations to disabled children and orphans.

Young people who want to take part in the festival can send an email to zingme@zing.vn with details including Zing Me account, full name, address, and telephone number. The organizing committee will reply with the ticket code, date and ticket collecting venue to applicants.
