With Valentine’s Day only a few days away, a number of hotels, restaurants and tourist firms in the city, under management of Saigontourist, are in a race against time to prepare a wide variety of food and entertainment programs for revelers.
Rex Hotel (141 Nguyen Hue Boulevard, District 1, tel: 3829 2185)
The hotel will offer tasty dishes such as fried oyster with salt done Hong Kong style or Australian beef grilled with green pepper at its Rooftop Garden Bar. Tickets are priced at VND735,000 per dish, inclusive of a glass of wine.
The hotel also introduces a selected set menu and romantic dinners accompanied with sweet melodies of love songs at the Rose Garden. Admission is VND840,000 per person.
Grand Hotel Saigon (8 Dong Khoi Street, District 1, tel: 3823 0163)
‘Melodies of couples’ will be hosted at the Grand Cafe from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., featuring signature dishes and cocktails. The party will swing along with a live music show and guests will be offered love chocolate. Admission is VND890,000 per guest for a set menu.
Chez-Nous Restaurant will also prepare a romantic dinner under candle light along with sweet melodies of classic music from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are priced at VND690,000 per guest for a set menu.
Continental Hotel (132 Dong Khoi Street, District 1, tel: 3825 7679)
Coming to the Lafayette, diners will be served many attractive dishes, as well as enjoy music performances featuring piano, guitar and violin and some singing performances.
Admission is VND850,000 per guest, including a drink and lucky gift.
Liberty Central Hotel (177 Le Thanh Ton, District 1, tel: 3823 9269)
Couples will have an unforgettable night with a Candlelit Dinner featuring selected dishes. Admission is priced at VND750,000 per guest, inclusive of a Cocktail ‘P.S I hate you’.
Que Huong-Liberty 2 Hotel (129-133 Ham Nghi, District 1, tel: 3821 7022)
Grilled dishes will be the theme at the Champagne Restaurant with grilled duck-beak fish with tamarind, chinh fish grilled with lemon and chili, coc fish grilled with ginger leaves or beef grilled with lemon grass on offer.
There will be a free appetizer or 10% off the bill for diners at the weekend.
Bong Sen Saigon Hotel (117 Dong Khoi Street, District 1, tel: 3829 1516)
The Buffet Ganh Restaurant will prepare over 40 tasty dishes in a cozy space decorated by flowers and couples will be given free chocolate. Tickets are priced at VND260,000 per guest.
Meanwhile, the Green Leaf Cafe will have a tea party with a number of teas, cakes and soft dishes. This is an ideal place for couples to express their love. Admission is VND170,000++ per guest.
The Lotus Center will have a set menu for couples. Each couple will be given a bottle of champagne and they can order violin or piano artists to play their favorite songs. The program will be held from 6:30 p.m. 9:30 p.m. and costs VND250,000 per guest.
Palace Hotel Saigon (56 Nguyen Hue Boulevard, District 1, tel: 3829 2860)
The hotel’s Golden Palace Hotel will hold a buffet party with more than 40 Asian, Western and seafood dishes. Couples will be given champagne, chocolate and a 10% discount. The buffet program will be hosted from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and costs VND445,000 per person.
Meanwhile, the Palace Cafe hosts ‘Valentine’s for singles’. Guests will have a chance to win gifts during a game show ‘Avowal of love’. The program is on from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and costs VND340,000 per person.
Binh Quoi 2 Tourist Area (End of Binh Quoi Street, Binh Thanh District, tel: 3556 5470)
From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., revelers will be served a set menu with four main dishes, fruit and drink at the swimming pool areas with a garland lantern on the water. The party will be held by candle light with a Latin Eyes show. Tickets are priced at VND420,000 per guest, discounted 5% for those buying in advance.
Tan Cang Tourist Area (A100 Ung Van Khiem Street, Binh Thanh District, tel: 3512 8775)
‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ will be held in the romantic garden area under candle light with sweet music melodies. Tickets are priced at VND500,000 per adult, inclusive of drinks and love gifts.
Hoang Gia Restaurant (12D Cach Mang Thang 8, District 1, tel: 3823 2232)
The restaurant is offering two new dishes of braised H’Mong chicken and lang fish grilled on silver paper. On Valentine’s Day, the restaurant will serve a set menu for couples priced at VND850,000 per set for a couple, inclusive of wine and chocolate.
Dong Khanh Hotel (2 Tran Hung Dao B Street, District 5, tel: 3829 2959)
A buffet will be prepared from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with more than 30 attractive dishes. Tickets are priced at VND320,000 per adult and VND220,000 per child.
Saigon Ship Restaurant (Bach Dang Wharf, Nguyen Hue Boulevard, District 1, tel: 3823 0393)
‘Valentine’s Day party’ will be hosted from 6 p.m. with more than 30 Asian and Western dishes. The party will be rocked along with a music show, guitar and flute performances. The ship will be covered with flowers and balloons. Appetizers, cocktails and wine will be served freely during the party.
Oscar Hotel (68A Nguyen Hue Boulevard, District 1, tel: 3829 2959)
The Starlight will introduce two set menus of Western dishes for VND500,000 per person and VND800,000 per couple. The restaurant will give free cocktails, drinks and flowers for female guests and offer music on demand.
Saigontourane Hotel (5 Dong Da Street, Danang, tel: (0511) 3821 021)
‘Love Melody’ will be held from 6 p.m. with love songs and over ten signature dishes together with fun games. Admission is VND300,000 per couple, inclusive of one glass of fruit juice and chocolate.
