Hotel raises funds for cancer patients

Published: Sunday, December 04, 2011

New World Saigon Hotel has unveiled a Christmas tree containing personal Christmas wishes of 200 cancer children at Ho Chi Minh City-based Tumor Hospital to raise funds for them.

On December 2, Henrik Iversen, the hotel’s general manager, lighted up the Christmas tree in the hotel’s hall amidst big cheers of 200 guests and visitors.

The activity, called “Wish upon a star,” was initiated in 2010 when hotel staffs visited and offered gifts to cancer child patients at HCMC’s Tumor Hospital.

This initiative is intended to encourage guests and visitors of New World Saigon Hotel to choose one or more stars and either to donate money to buy a Christmas gift for a child or buy the gift themselves and give it to the hotel.

The hotel will then collect the donations and bring them to the hospital on December 23.
