-- A delegation from the Authority of Radio Frequency Management last Monday attended the 12th World Radio Communication Conference in Geneva. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) conference saw the participation of 3,500 delegates from ITU member countries around the world.
-- The Hanoi authorities plan to build steel overpasses for cars and motorbikes as well as underground and high-rise car parks to gradually reduce traffic congestion in the capital city. Each four-lane overpass will be built at a cost of 150 billion VND and will take four months to complete.

-- Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd., Japan’s largest chemical producer, will set up two companies specializing in manufacturing silicone-based materials for high-brightness LED packaging, and refining rare earths, with total investment of JPY5 billion (US$64 million)

-- A 125 cc motorbike race took place yesterday in Can Tho stadium in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, attracting thousands of spectators. Nguyen Huynh Luong from Lam Dong province and Nguyen Ngoc Cuong from Vinh Long province became the champion for the professional and amateur category respectively.
-- Viet Nam will take part at the Southeast Asian Table Tennis Championship in Thailand without key member Doan Kien Quoc, who has decided to make way for younger talent. A two-time Olympian, Quoc decided to withdraw from the national team, which is hoping to perform well at the regional tournament with a view to pocketing a ticket to the London Olympics.
