HANOI – Panasonic Corp. on Wednesday inaugurated a million dollar science and mathematics facility for Vietnamese students in Hanoi City. This is the second such facility in the world. The first is in Japan.
The facility, called Panasonic Risupia Vietnam, uses advanced audio-visual technologies and know-how to interpret the famous principles of science and mathematics into games for Vietnamese children aged from 11 to 17 years old. It also includes a showroom exhibiting Panasonic’s latest technologies and corporate messages.
Located on the second floor of Sunrise Building D11 in Hanoi’s Cau Giay District, the facility provides an education and entertainment environment with a science and mathematics area, water area, discovery base camp and magical performance theatre. Panasonic has modified some games to suit the Vietnamese culture and people.
Panasonic chairman Kunio Nakamura said the center would give students a passion to learn and play with the laws and principles of science and mathematics. “We see that the development of a nation strongly relates to the number of children loving physics and mathematics. We hope that the center will make more Vietnamese children like the scientific subjects and contribute to social development in the country,” Nakamura said.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan appraised establishment of the center in Vietnam, saying that the center would become a popular playground for Vietnamese youth.
The center gives free admission for students and visitors on weekdays, except for Monday and during the traditional Tet holiday.
