OxIndus technology to recycle steel dusts and turn waste into a value
product was introduced at a seminar in Hanoi on Nov. 26.
Participants to the seminar were briefed of two basic phases, black
line and white line of OxIndus technology, in solving electric arc
furnace dusts (EAFD).
Scientists said that OxIndus
technology is an effective technology and a feasible economic and
environmental solution in steel production using EAF technology. The
process does not generate toxic waste, they said.
At
present, the French Natural Resources Development Research Company
(NRD) and its partners are waiting for investment licences to build a
White Line plant in the northern port city of Hai Phong and install
the first Black Line in 2011.
According to the
Vietnam Steel Corporation, around 70,000 tonnes of steel dusts are
generated during steel making in 2010 and the figure is expected to
reach 100,000 tonnes next year.
The seminar is part
of the Vietnam-France Culture Week and an activity of a cooperation plan
between the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology’s Technology
Development and Application Department and the NRD./.
