VN, Lao foreign ministries foster ties

Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongloun Sisoulith received a delegation of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry, which is on a working visit to Laos from Jan. 12-16, in Vientiane on Jan. 13.

Deputy Foreign Minister Ho Xuan Son, who led the delegation, informed his host of the outcomes of the meeting between the two foreign ministries.

The two sides noted with pleasure the level of cooperative relations between the two ministries and affirmed their resolve to complete the foreign tasks assigned by the two Parties and States.

The Vietnamese ministry is preparing for activities to mark the 50 th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties, the 35 th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty and the Year of Friendship and Solidarity between Vietnam and Laos in 2012, Son said.

Deputy PM Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his delight at the fruitful cooperation between the two countries and the two foreign ministries in particular.

He said he hopes that the foreign ministries will boost their cooperation and exchanges, contributing to developing the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries./.
