Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh has visited an overseas Vietnamese artificial ventilator production workshop in Saitama prefecture, 30km to the south of Tokyo.

Chairman of Metran Executive Council Tran Ngoc Phu said the company was founded in 1984 with a capital of 87.5 million JPY and had provided the Japanese market with artificial ventilators which have the same high quality as those made in Europe and the US.

The company is now focusing on family medical equipment such as the finger-type pulse oximeter, he said.

Metran was chosen by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as one of 300 potential development companies in 2007 and its products have reached the Republic of Korea, India,  Indonesia, Mexico and Singapore, he said.

The Vietnamese diplomat highlighted the creativeness and efforts of Metran’s leaders and workers, saying that its Hummingbird high frequency oscillation artificial ventilator and other medical equipment have contributed to saving the lives of premature babies and patients with respiratory diseases.

He said he hoped Metran would increase the proportion of Vietnamese accessories in its products or manufacture some medical equipment in the homeland./.
