Vietnam’s National Day celebrated in Bangladesh

The Vietnamese Embassy in Bangladesh hosted a reception in the Bangladeshi capital city of Dhaka on Sept. 2 to mark the country’s 65th National Day (Sept. 2).

Prominent among the guests were Bangladeshi State Minister for Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Promode Mankin, Minister of Industry Dipip Barua, Minister of Food and Disaster Management Abdur Razzak and Minister of Land Rezaul Karim Hira and representatives of international organisations and businesses.

Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Van That underlined the achievements Vietnamese people have recorded over the past 65 years under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which was set up by the late President Ho Chi Minh.

He stressed on the significance of 2010, the year Vienam assumes ASEAN Chair and celebrates the 1,000 th anniversary of the capital city of Thang Long-Hanoi .

The Vietnamese diplomat took the occasion to thank the government and people of Bangladesh for their support to Vietnam during the country’s struggle for national liberation as well as the present cause of national construction and development.

For his part, Minister Promode Mankin thanked Vietnam for its supports during his country’s fights\ for independence and construction.

Vietnam is always a bright example for Bangladesh in the struggle for national independence as well as in development, he said.

On this occasion, Vietnamese Embassy organised a painting exhibition featuring the land and people of Vietnam and released supplements on several Bangladeshi newspapers featuring Vietnam and the capital city of Hanoi./.
