Minister lauds ILO role in boosting nation’s labour laws

The International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) cooperation with Vietnam to build labour, employment and social security policies is highly valued by the country, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh.

He made the statement on Feb. 21 when receiving Gyorgy Sziracki, the newly appointed director of the ILO Office in Vietnam .

Minh expressed his hope that the two sides will soon complete and sign the national cooperation programme for the 2012-16 period and suggested that the ILO will make active contribution to the One United Nations Initiative in Vietnam .

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will create favourable conditions for ILO activities in the country and will make efforts to engage in common tasks as an official member of the ILO executive board during the 2011-14 period.

Sziraczki affirmed that he will do his best to boost the cooperation between Vietnam and the ILO, including the effective implementation of the National Programme for 2012-16. - VNA
