Laos determines to bring ties with VN to new height

Laos is determined to work closely with Vietnam to bring the special ties between the two countries to a new height, said Lao Party and State leader Choummaly Sayasone.

The Lao Party General Secretary and State President made the remark while receiving in Vientiane on Sept. 12 a Vietnamese high-level delegation, headed by Truong Tan Sang, Party politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.

The Vietnamese delegation paid a visit to Laos from Sept. 12-13 to attend the debut ceremony of the volume one of a collection of works by Marx-Engels-Lenin and Ho Chi Minh in the Lao language and an international scientific seminar on the Vietnam-Laos solidarity alliance on the Urn field-Xieng Khouang Battle Field.

General Secretary Choummaly Sayasone expressed his pleasure at Vietnam ’s achievements in national construction and defence, as well as in national industrialisation and modernisation and praised Vietnam ’s position in the region and the world. He expressed his belief that the Vietnamese people would successfully implement the 10 th Party Congress’s Resolution and hold the 11 th Party Congress and would continue gain more achievements in national renewal.

He expressed thanks to Vietnam for precious assistance to Laos in their past revolution and the present national development.

For his part, Sang congratulated Laos over their great achievement in national development and expressed his belief that the Lao people would successfully build the country into a nation of peace, independence, democracy, unity and prosperity following the socialist orientation.

He stated that Vietnam would try its best to develop the Vietnam-Laos deep, stable and sustainable ties.

The same day, the Vietnamese delegation attended the debut ceremony of volume one of the collection of works by Marx-Engels-Lenin and Ho Chi Minh in the Lao language.

Bounnhang Volachit, Party politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committees’ Secretariat and Deputy President, expressed thanks to Vietnam for its valuable assistance to Laos in carrying out this project./.
