A music video featuring the lives of wanderers made by a group of local students has recently caused a stir in the Internet community.
With background music from the song “Goc Toi” (Dark Corner) written by Nguyen Hai Phong, the video, directed by Le Hai Nam tells the story of a mad guy who considers a street-urchin his younger brother and protects him selflessly.
The touching screenplay matches perfectly with the song lyrics concerning the nomadic lives of wanderers “giua goc toi do ai dang co ro, ai dang nhu than co…nang gio khap loi toi di muon noi, toi day quen lau roi…” (someone huddles himself up in a dark corner like a lonely egret…I’ve traveled round and round with wind and sun, for a longtime…) and has moved thousands of the clip’s viewer’s hearts.
First released on January 29, the video has attracted almost 85,000 views from Youtube users after 6 days, with many positive comments.
“I almost cried watching this. Nice music. The “mad guy” is amazing. Love the video,” a netizen nicknamed lazychicken2005 wrote.
“Life is not only black or pink. Sometimes art is the sound of pain from misery lives,” Pham Minh Nhat who played the role of the mad guy commented on his work. “There was a mad guy who dared to protect a strange street-urchin whom he considered to be his brother.”
For his part, Nguyen Viet Anh, who played the role of the street-urchin in the video, shared it was hard for him to play the role since he’s never been in such a situation.
“I tried my best to express the loneliness and desperation of a wanderer. Inthe last scene, when the mad guy is beaten because of the street-urchin, I was deeply touched,” he added.
