Jazz artist Diane Witherspoon comes to Hanoi
French pianist Michel Bourdoncle makes a solo piano performance with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra at the Hanoi Opera House at 8 p.m on February 15 and 16.
He will perform famous works from Johannes Brahms such as Piano Concerto No.1 D minor op.15 and Symphony No.1 minor op.68.
From Carnegie Hall in New York to Chatelet Theater in Paris, Michel Bourdoncle has performed under the baton of renowned conductors with the New Symphony Orchestra, Pro Arte Orchestra of Paris, the Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra, Live Music Ensemble, Rhin region Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Salzburg Chamber Orchestra, ‘Mozart Players Sere and Orchestra of Madere. In 1993, he held the international piano festival ‘Piano Nights’ at Aix-en-Provence. In recent years, he has brought the festival to Germany, Italy and the U.K.

She is a cousin of late Blues great Jimmy Witherspoon and sister to Shirley Witherspoon, a former Duke Ellington vocalist.
She has recorded albums with Bobby McFerrin, Cedar Walton, Eddie ‘Cleanhead’ Vinson and Odean Pope among others. Diane’s night gigs at Le Club will be held from Tuesday to Sunday.
