Pianist Marie Vermeulin comes to Hanoi

Award-wining pianist Marie Vermeulin will perform at the French Cultural Center (L’Espace) in Hanoi on February 9.

She spent six years in Paris studying with Jacqueline Dussol and in 2001 obtained a Diploma in Musical Studies from the National Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt Region.

Three years later, she received another higher music degree, the National Diploma of Higher Studies Musical, from the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon.

In May 2006, she won second prize at the International Maria Canals Competition in Barcelona and a year later was second at the Olivier Messiaen International Competition in Paris.

She is sponsored by Societe Generale and Accademia Pianistica Internazionale of Imola. In July 2007, she was chosen by Culturefrance to take part in the program Declic which promotes young French musical stars. In 2009, she was awarded international prize Pro Musicis.

Admission is VND100,000 with tickets available at the venue in 24 Trang Tien Street in the capital.
