Celebrity dancing show kicks off season 3

Published: Wednesday, February 22, 2012

“Buoc nhay hoan vu”, the local version of “Dancing with the stars” has announced its star-studded list of contestants for season 3, which will kick off on Monday.

This year, the reality dance show will see model Anh Thu, Miss Vietnam 2010’s runner-up Hoang My, actress Van Trang, Minh Hang and singer Phuong Thanh show off their dancing talent.

The five male contestants include actor Huynh Dong, Quach Ngoc Ngoan, model Truong Nam Thanh, emcee Tuan Tu and singer Minh Quan.

Ngoc Ngoan and Minh Quan seem to have great interest in these reality shows as they are fresh out of “The perfect couple”, the localized version of British show “Just the two of us” aired at the end of 2011.

Paired with these 10 celebrities, as usual will be 10 professional dancers coming from Europe.

According to the show’s organizers, the artists have taken part in a rigorous training program for a month now to cope with the show’s physical requirements and its weekly dance schedule. Their teacher is Alex, who was paired with actress Thanh Thuy last season.

The release of the list has stirred lively discussions and speculation among the show’s fans, who predict singer Minh Hang will have an upper hand in the race as her performances often have quick and complicated dance steps.

While actress Van Trang said it took her some time before finally signing up for the show as “all I know about dancing is really basic”, singer Phuong Thanh said the pre-show practice has made her more confident about appearing on stage, as she rarely dances when singing.

Last year, singer Thu Minh won the show after a close race with singer Thuy Tien in the finale.

Ten episodes of “Buoc nhay hoan vu” season three will be broadcast live on national channel VTV 3 staring on March 18, 2011. The first night will be held at Quan Ngua Sport Stadium in Hanoi.
