HCM CITY — An exhibit of visual artworks, From Melbourne to HCM City: Same – Same, shows the talents of emerging artists from Australia and Viet Nam.

The exhibition, in view in the HCM City Fine Arts College from May 10-20, was organised through the Australian Consulate-General and also the town of Melbourne.

The artworks illustrate an extensive selection of approaches produced by the performers, who tackle different issues by utilizing similar concepts and aesthetic techniques to transcend cultural and geographic limitations.

Australian Consul-General John McAnulty stated they [the consulate] i was delighted to utilize the town of Melbourne to create together artworks from Melbourne and HCM City.

"The HCM City artists were readers from the HCM City Youthful Artists Grant Programme in the last seven years," he stated.

"Focusing on both youth and also the artistic community, this exhibition develops the already strong people-to-people links between Australia and Viet Nam and encourages a shared knowledge of each other peoples culture."

The programme is definitely an initiative from the town of Melbourne in co-operation using the Australian Consulate-General in HCM City.

The project supports youthful emerging visual artists living and dealing in HCM City. Since 2005, grants or loans happen to be granted to 31 artists, based on a pr release in the Australian Consulate in HCM City.

The exhibition takes place at 5 Phan Dang Luu Street in HCM City's Binh Thanh District.
