A delegation of Ho Chi Minh City attended an international conference
on climate change held in the Netherlands ’ Rotterdam city from
Sept. 29 - Oct. 1.
The delegation exchanged
experiences on adaptation to climate change with others from regions
worldwide at the “Deltas in Times of Climate Change” conference, and
joined sessions on urban planning and water resources management, and
financial issues for programmes on adjustment to climate change.
They gave an interview to the C40 organisation, a group of cities
committed to tackling with climate change, and negotiated with the
Rotterdam administration on its assistance to HCM City to manage
water resources and sea ports, expand towards the sea, and join a data
centre of delta cities.
The delegation included cadres
from the city’s departments of natural resources and environment,
agriculture and rural development, and planning and architecture, led by
Nguyen Van Phuoc, Deputy Director of the city’s Department of Natural
Resources and Environment./.
