HCM City seeks experiences to cope with climate change

A delegation of Ho Chi Minh City attended an international conference on climate change held in the Netherlands ’ Rotterdam city from Sept. 29 - Oct. 1.

The delegation exchanged experiences on adaptation to climate change with others from regions worldwide at the “Deltas in Times of Climate Change” conference, and joined sessions on urban planning and water resources management, and financial issues for programmes on adjustment to climate change.

They gave an interview to the C40 organisation, a group of cities committed to tackling with climate change, and negotiated with the Rotterdam administration on its assistance to HCM City to manage water resources and sea ports, expand towards the sea, and join a data centre of delta cities.

The delegation included cadres from the city’s departments of natural resources and environment, agriculture and rural development, and planning and architecture, led by Nguyen Van Phuoc, Deputy Director of the city’s Department of Natural Resources and Environment./.

Calligraphy works according to Diary imprisonment poetry on show

HN – A calligraphy exhibition featuring Nhat Ky Trong Tu (Diary imprisonment) poetry by Leader Ho Chi Minh opened up its doorways towards the public in Ha Noi yesterday.Featuring 45 calligraphy works produced by 23 South Korean and three Vietnamese artists, the display is supposed to celebrate the 122nd birthday from the Leader on May 19, and also the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Columbia.Nhat Ky Trong Tu was written throughout a one year stint in jail between 1942 and 1943
