Standings remain unchanged in Delta Tour

HA NOI — Le Van Duan of Sai Gon Plant Protection 1 won the fourth stage of the 19th Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta Cycling Tour, An Giang Plant Protection Cup yesterday.

Duan, who won the third stage on Monday, received strong support from his team-mates who pushed up the speed in the last laps.

He overcame team-mate Mai Nguyen Hung in the final metres to finish the 148km stage from Rach Gia city of Kien Giang Province to Soc Trang city in 3hr 40min 25sec at a top speed of 40.287km/h.

Do Tuan Anh of Domesco Dong Thap and Bui Minh Thuy of ADC-Vinh Long Television were runners-up.

Nguyen Nam Cuc from Sai Gon Plant Protection 2 maintained the yellow jersey for a best overall 11:48.56 after four stages, followed by Dang Trung Hieu of Can Tho city and Lam Cong Danh of An Giang Plant Protection.

Domesco Dong Thap's Anh wore the green jersey, which recognises the cyclist with the highest points in the tournament, with 55 points. Hung and Ho Van Phuc of ADC-Vinh Long Television was second and third respectively.

With the determination, Sai Gon Plant Protection 2 lead team ranking. Now they have the best time of 35:34.53, followed by ADC-Vinh Long Television and Military Zone 7.

Today, cyclists will compete in the 120km stage from Soc Trang to Ca Mau city. — VNS
