HCM City girl crowned Miss Vietnam World 2010

Luu Thi Diem Huong, a 20-year-old student from Ho Chi Minh City, was crowned Miss Vietnam World 2010 after beating 39 other candidates at home and abroad at Vinpearl Land resort, Nha Trang city in the central province of Khanh Hoa on August 21.

Huong, who stands 1.71m and has measurements of 84-61-92, is studying at  the faculty of hotel management and tourism at Hoa Sen University in Ho Chi Minh City.

She kept the crown worth 1 billion VND and a prize worth 500 million VND.  

Huong was also presented with the title “Miss Photographic”.

Nguyen Hung, general Director of the Vietnam Thinh Vuong (Prosperity) Bank  - VPBank, put the crown on Miss Vietnam World 2010. Hung won the auction to get the right to put the crown on the winner by contributed over 1 billion VND to the contest for charity.

Nguyen Ngoc Kieu Khanh, who was also Miss Beach, from Germany, and Pham Thuy Vy Victoria, Miss Sports, from the US were named first and second runners up. They were awarded 300 million VND and 200 million VND, respectively.    

During the final round of the contest, which started from Aug. 10, Ninh Hoang Ngan won the title “Miss Fashion”, while Ha Thi Hoang Anh took “Miss Traditional Robe” and Nguyen Thanh Huyen, “Miss Talent”.

The judges also presented “Miss Friendly” to Nguy Thanh Lan, “Miss Favourite” to Nguyen Thu May and “Miss Elegant” to Nguyen Mai Anh.

Each of the title winner got 30 million VND prize money.  

According to the organizing board, the contest has raised more than VND4.5 billion VND for charitable activities.

World renowned band IL Divo performed on the final night together with many Vietnamese pop stars./.

Calligraphy works according to Diary imprisonment poetry on show
