Binh Thuan hosts National Junior Golf Titles

They will be competing in men’s and women’s events for U11, U16 and U21 age groups.

The U11 golfers will play nine holes in one day for their competition while the remaining players will play 36 holes with no handicaps.

Vietnam Golf Association General Secretary Nguyen Van Hao said the top two golfers in the U21 and U16 categories and the tournament winner and runner-up will advance to the Asian Tour, which will take place in Vietnam early next year.

The tournament, held simultaneously with the Faldo Series Asia, provides a good opportunity for competitors to gain valuable experience and will help select the five best players to represent Vietnam at the upcoming Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at Golf Mission Hills in China next year.

These young golfers are considered important elements of the national squad that will participate in the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar and the 2014 World Amateur Team Championships in Japan.
